HAWKEYE™

Based on the classic Estes Hawkeye Model Rocket Kit

QModeling: Model Rocket Kits - Price List

The HAWKEYE™ is one of QModeling's top quality sports class model rocket kits. The HAWKEYE is a huge upscale recreation of the ½ A Estes Hawkeye. The original Hawkeye model rocket kit graced the skies in the late 1970's.

QModeling has created a Limited Edition MEGA BT-80 version of this classic that enables the use of both E and F size (24mm) rocket motors for impressively powerful launches. The HAWKEYE is a 4.78:1 MEGA scale of the original Hawkeye making it over 43 inches tall. Combined with QModeling 's high quality laser cut parts and renowned easy step-by-step instructions your own HAWKEYE could be soaring in the sky in no time.

The HAWKEYE comes with QModeling's unique Engine Mount that eliminates annoying Primary Fin alignment problems while providing a very robust easy to build design. The kit includes QModeling 's BT-80-OGIVE Nose Cone produced from their high quality liquid plastic process nose cone. Also, the kit comes with a full set of upscale original silk screen decals as well as an interlocking Primary Wing Fin design for strength and easy construction. An extra Centering Ring is provided to form a parachute compartment enabling you to better stabilize the rocket's CG. This is another example of QModeling listening to customers in order to improve the overall quality of their model rocket kits. Finally, the HAWKEYE also comes with QModeling's unique retractable engine hook design

Like the other RMS kits, QModeling has broken the deployment barrier by offering a wad-less high performance Recovery System based on a partnership with Top Flight Recovery. It consists of a 30” Octagon, Thin Mil, Ripstop Nylon Parachute with sewn in 24” Nylon shroud lines, Nomex 9” x 9” Heat Shield Parachute Protector, 9’ Kevlar Shock Cord, and a Snap Swivel. Now there is no need to search out any after market recovery system components, because QModeling builds top quality into all aspects of their model rocket kits.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The HAWKEYE is a Level 4 kit requiring an experienced modeler. The kit is not recommended for novices. The modeler must be experienced in light building techniques to minimize weight and have experience in launching heavy models with large fin areas. The HAWKEYE requires a ¼” launch rod having a minimum 60” length. Based on final weight, wind conditions, and launch rod length an E9-4 engine can be used, however F21-6Ws are highly recommended.
